Love that I was able to get a sampler of the 4 that appealed to me most and really get a sense for the wear because they smell somewhat different in the bottle vs on skin.
Grand Tour - fresh, intriguing, more on the spicy side of woody. The herbaceous/aromatic top note reads very masculine to me personally, though I love the idea of a woman being able to pull this off.
Realism - earthy, unusual, warm. Definitely get the hay and soil, and my mind almost fills in the blanks with the barn and horses. I don't get so much of the greenness, and the patchouli is fairly prominent, which isn't my thing. I think this is definitely a "great only if it works with your chemistry" one.
Lartigue - aquatic, modern, abstract fruit. Peach-ish, but not traditionally sweet. The fruit is abstract, in a "I think this smells fruity but not like any I've ever smelled" way. This feels "rounded" and "watery" but I honestly can't explain why I want to use those words to describe it. Very unisex, would be especially sexy on a man.
Dauphine - refined, elegant, ethereal. Unexpectedly obsessed with this one. I'm generally not one for sweet gourmands, and only tossed this one in my order because it seemed the most popular. It opens with a strong almond note, which quickly fades away to a beautiful, clean, warm, skin-scent rose. Gets less and less sweet over time, until it's almost unidentifiable as rose and feels like abstract gardeny woods to me. Ordering a bigger bottle of this!

I was intrigued by other reviews of Jackal, the words "feral" and "dirty" especially. I also was curious because the reviews seem to be split almost 50/50 between people who were devotees and people who were turned off - shout out to the person who thought they might be embarrassed to wear it in public (might have been the sentiment that clinched my purchase).
I am in love with it. I get a lot of bitter chocolate and peaty scotch, and maybe a touch of dirt. It is confidence-boosting; I feel like an absolute siren when I spray it on. I will say that the scent doesn't have a lot of lasting power, as far as I can tell. By the end of the day, I wouldn't be confident to say that I can still smell it, however, maybe it's a smell that I get used to over the course of a few hours.
Layering is really the kicker. It smells even more phenomenal when layered with Smoker (after having smoked), but when I paired it with Realism, I was almost physically repulsed. It smelled like decay and rot. I wonder if the reviewers who bounced off of Jackal so hard were wearing a more floral shampoo, or body wash, and were unknowingly layering those scents.

a lot of enjoyment in that little package in the mail. it's hard to find scents that are bold without being super sweet or super spicy, which is annoying because I feel those kinds of scents "go stale" easily when you're wearing them. grand tour was awesome especially, I got three samples and that was my favorite at first sniff.

I've never had a stranger ask about my perfume but it happened twice while I was rocking one of these (Lartigue). I liked a different one slightly more (Grand tour) so now I'm not sure which one to get a bigger bottle of! The other one I got, Dauphine, was really good too but I tend to go for more masculine scents. I can see myself buying the sample set next time even if I do buy a full bottle, since I've enjoyed having the tiny portable sprays.

I ordered a mix of the small and big (the spray kind) samples, in four scents. I wished I had just gotten the sample set, since the two scents I didn't try (Silent Films and Jackal) I ended up wanting to try. 4 stars is because the packaging for the small 1ml samples is really hard to open. But the smells were great.

Realism is really a real dose of farm smell-cedar chips mainly. A bit too strong for me, but as noted in other review the product is good, just weird!

One thing I loved was that my usual experience of perfume changing immediately from good to bad smell once on did not happen with Goest. But, the Lartigue is kind of odd-almost smells good but not quite!
